Yusuf spun his chair to the side again, let out a short hiss, and said, “Whoever the producer is, they really don’t know how to plot a movie.”

“Hahaha, but this is exactly how it should be. Just looking at those soldiers, you know they’re not a joke… plus, it’s better that he’s caught early on, it’ll make the plot progress much better.”

“And maybe he’ll escape from them.”

“How? It’s a woman, you know. It’s highly unlikely she can break free.”

“That’s not a woman.”

“Just wait until they unmask the face and you’ll see. You can tell it’s a woman just by the way she runs, and not even a tomboyish one at that.”

Khalid fell silent as the audio from the movie continued to play, and they both went quiet, keeping their eyes on the screen.

“Get the mask!!… There is no harm in the air, we already checked, except for the thorpe’s breath.” one of the soldiers barked. He immediately ripped the mask off the person’s face, and instantly, Khalid’s prediction was proven right. A grin spread across Khalid’s face as he turned to look at Yusuf, who was repeatedly letting out short hisses, clearly frustrated that things hadn’t gone the way he wanted.

Just as Yusuf opened his mouth to speak, the office door clicked and gently pushed open. A young woman stepped inside, holding some documents and dressed in a nurse’s uniform. She closed the door behind her and walked over to the desk where Yusuf was sitting, slowly rocking his chair from side to side.

With utmost respect, she bowed slightly and placed the file in her hands on the desk, pushing it toward Yusuf. “Sir, here are the results we obtained,” she said, clasping her hands behind her back.

“Has she woken up?” Yusuf asked as he opened the file to look through it.

“Yes, sir. She woke up around 1:12, but she slipped back under after barely four seconds. It seems it will still take some time before she fully regains consciousness.”

Silence followed her words. Through his clear reading glasses, Yusuf’s eyes tracked the writing in the file, analyzing it thoroughly. After a few seconds, Yusuf looked up from the file, rubbed his forehead, and leaned back against his chair, letting out a short breath.

“Huuuuhh,” a sigh escaped his lips. “EXOGENOUS DEPRESSION,” he uttered in a tone full of pity, closing his eyes. His words caused Khalid to shift his attention back to him.

“Does that mean she is in a bipolar state?”

Yusuf nodded in affirmation without saying a word. After a few seconds, he raised his eyes to look at the nurse and asked, “And according to the security agencies’ investigation, she doesn’t have any relatives in this country?”

“Exactly, sir. They have confirmed that… Even to me, her situation is deeply baffling.”

Khalid chimed in, “There is definitely more to this story. They need to investigate further, because if she doesn’t live in this country, who brought her here, dropped her off, and left her in this terrible condition?”

Yusuf exhaled again before asking the nurse, “Whose care is she under?”

“Sir, she is under the care of Dr. Nameer, but honestly, she is facing some difficulties.”

“What kind of difficulties?”

“Dr. Nameer is hot-tempered, and he explicitly stated that as long as she has no family here, he won’t give her the proper attention she needs. In fact, right now, he has refused to prescribe the necessary injections for her, claiming that even if he does, she has no one to purchase them for her.”
